This collection came about due to my frequent graveyard visits. I’ve always found graveyards to be strangely productive places where I can gather my thoughts and walk through potential series ideas.
For example, some of these images were taken on the day that I decided the full idea for my ‘When the Time Comes’ archival project. The old, fallen down gravestones made me think about the concept of forgetting and how this area not being taken care of could contribute to that idea.
The inclusion of the empty milk jugs, however, took me entirely by surprise. By doing further research, I found that they are left on headstones for either spiritual purposes or to help clean the graves when needed.
